We are considering moving to a rear lounge layout. Ideally we would like an A Class with a rear lounge that will easily convert to two singles; no other beds are needed. The maximum length of the vehicle must be kept at or below 7.5m. Any suggestion gratefully received and question answered if that will help you point me in the right direction. Currently we have a Carthago Chic C-Line.

Swift kontiki, bessecar, lunar all do rear lounge vans

Top of my list would be the Frankia i740 plus, rear lounge with excellent size garage. Others to consider would be, Mobilvetta K-Yacht & Hymer(y)

Although British manufacturers would have this option non I believe are A class.

We've just bought a Frankia i740 Plus - this is our 4th van and I absolutely love it. Huge garage and an incredible amount of storage inside. The other weekend we had 6 people comfortably in the lounge. The finish is superb and the the drop down bed is very comfortable with a nice little pull out step to access it (no ladders!!). An option is to add two further beds/seats to the lounge area which are hidden under the lounge seats.
SMC in Newark are the only Frankia dealer in the UK. Some pics for you.

Rear lounge layouts are starting to get popular with most of the continental manufacturers offering a version now, the trend seemed to start about 3 years ago.

Hymer Duo 534 fits lounge location and size requirements. However the rear lounge does not convert to 2 single beds, the bed layout is the same as the Frankia in @The Dude post.

534 is 6.99 long and 2.2 wide.

Thanks for all the replies, much food for thought.

@The Dude I like the look of the Frankia. Have you had any problems with it, I ask as an acquaintance has a similar model and has had nothing but trouble both with the Fiat part and the conversion; a list of problems as long as your arm. Looking at the bed is it possible / safe to sit up and lean back using the pillow end as a headboard?

Hi Roger, Haven't had any problems so far but we're just about to set off for Scotland for a couple of weeks so that should give it a good trashing. With regards to leaning back at the pillow end, that answer is no. If you wanted to do that you would have to have your pillows at the other end.
