That looks like a big bird to me and I always thought they were fairly small

Most definitely a cuckoo. Heard one on spring watch but not seen or heard one since 🤔

There's a stronghold on Dartmoor and it does the soul wonders to hear and see them flying. That's a really brilliant photo. What lens?

I don't remember hearing a cuckoo this spring. Are there fewer of them about this year?
Me neither and I usually do when walking the dog o'er hill 'n dale.
Unusually I haven't heard a single Chaffinch either.

always amazes me why we see more in Scotland than at home in Derbyshire , well we did pre lockdown anyway 🤔

why they keep on flying so far north I don’t know, maybe they eat midges 😁
