I hear them regularly when I'm out with mutley but I don't think ever seen 1

Me neither and I usually do when walking the dog o'er hill 'n dale.
Unusually I haven't heard a single Chaffinch either.

always amazes me why we see more in Scotland than at home in Derbyshire , well we did pre lockdown anyway

why they keep on flying so far north I don’t know, maybe they eat midges
