Hi there I have searched through previous posts but can't find quite what is needed here.

I have my leisure batteries being charged by solar MPPT and Ctek 10, Ctek has confirmed they can both work side by side no problem.
However, the Ctek is an 8 stage charger and the solar MPPT is a more basic .. only 4 stage. I would prefer my Ctek to monitor /charge my batteries whenever 240v is a available (even in sunshine), using solar only when there is no 240 available ( yes it doesn't make sense I know, but that's my preference).

The question is: can I install a simple on/ off switch on the solar inputpower red wire just before MPPT, to turn off solar input. On good day 21v is recorded, would this harm anything by not being able to go into the MPPT?

Please, I don't want to debate the where or for, and am very low tech so amps.volts etc are lost on me.
Can this be possible to wire in a simple on off swith without harming anything please?

Make sure that the switch you fit can cope wit’s the current. If there is no supply to the controller it will just sit there like it does every day when darkness starts.

sure you can, I do this, and comes in handy for doing any maintenence in the solar set up to battery side

Yes a switch before the mppt controller would do what you want. The only downside I see is forgetting to switch over from one to the other to suit the best conditions.

You could even fit a relay that is switched by the 240V hookup, so it automatically switches the solar input off when the hookup is plugged in, and on again as soon as it's unplugged. Just be a bit careful because the relay would have a 240V coil but 12V switch contacts.
