Hi All,
We are relatively new to this site and wanted to put some feelers out.
We run a small rural CS (max 5 vans & 5 tents) in reality we have never had more than 4 at any one time which is fine by us. However we are ourselves keen motorhomers and like to get away ourselves when we can, but don't like leaving the site with no one here.
We noticed there is a House sitting forum but wondered if it was ever of interest for anyone to come and campsite sit?
Thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks

Sounds lovely for a lot of folk, I imagine you will get lots of offers on here.

It’s certainly something we would be interested in

We would be interested. I’m presuming we’d reside in our moho, so would that reduce the pitch number to four?

I know a couple of CL's and CS's where they have somebody (maybe a full timer) or family friend who seems to be there most of the time and help out with running the place... both are pitched near owners property so not actually taking a pitch... Defo appeal to me.

I’m sure you would have no problem getting someone to site sit for you.
We would be interested.
I would have thought you could post in the house sitting section.

Know friends have a fenced off, owners pitch which they are allowed as well as the 5 pitches and tent area.

We are in South Norfolk
Can I ask where? As we are not far away and looking for local sites for quick get aways.

Not my call, but I can’t see what harm a single link would do. If you put it in your signature so it appeared under every post then it might be a different matter...

We are full timers and have been on a Norfolk CS since just before the lock down. We are supposed to be keeping an eye on the place.

I’m sure you will get plenty of enquiries.

am i allowed to put a link to our website? or would that be classed as advertising?
There seems to be other posters advertising, personally I don't see a CL as being a "business" as such, as I am sure even if you had 100% occupancy 365 days a year, you would still not make a living? CL's seem to be more of a lifestyle, to help out others?

Haha how right you are!! We had the space, old badger retired so we needed something to get him out of bed in the morning. We love motorhoming and our rural location so it seemed a natural thing to do to share with like minded adults. (no children, sorry). Here is the link, If not allowed am happy to delete.

Wow that’s a lovely place you have. We don’t often go south but next time we’re down that way il remember your site. Thanks for the link.

OP says it's a CS, hence licenced presumably by the C&CC? As such if anyone wishes to spend a little time there, they would be required to be members of the C&CC in order for the owner to comply with the Club's rules.

Not if they were site-sitting, cos anyone virtually can have a friend/relative to stay in addition to the Club members pitches.

I don't think we can offer to sit, but thanks for the link. We may well wander up your way when Boris says it's ok.

What Club has issued you with your Certificated Location status?

Does the local council issue certificates for CL sites, As stated do i have to join CCC to visit and stay overnight.

Believe the are sanctioned by one club or other n not council... and yes you need to be member of relevant club to use

Hello all, CL’s are granted a licensing exemption from planning permission by the camping and motorhome club, CS’s are granted an exemption by the camping and Caravanning Club. Both types must comply with certain rules to be able to take advantage of that exemption and you must be a member to use them. The council can object to the placing of a site as long as the objections are justified but ultimately the granting of any exemption is by the relevant club not the council. Hope this helps.

The Badgers, how fortuitous is this! I've just been scouring the internet for a camp site in Norfolk for July, providing they're allowed to open, come on here and see this. Afraid I can't help with the site sitting, but will provisionally book, if you have availability.
