I'm considering buying a 3ltr 2015 fiat ducato PVC it's an automatic but doesn't have cruise control.
Is it possible to retro fit and how expensive if possible.

Yes, Dave Newell will do a good job for you. And I think he offers a Funster discount. (y)

But I'm really surprised a 2015, 3-litre Ducato pvc with comfortmatic gearbox doesn't have a cruise as standard?

It's certainly possible and might be better for you. The after-market cruise control I had fitted in my second van was much better than the Fiat version I had in the next one. Two reasons for this:
Most importantly, the after-market could be paused by operating the switch but the factory-fit requires a dab on the brake pedal.
Secondly, the after-market had two pre-set speed positions that could be selected with a press of a button.

Not the case on our 2013 3.0 Comfortmatic.
There is a button on the end of the cruise control stalk that you press to knock cruise control off. Press it again and it resumes the previous set speed.

Had a 2008 X250, a 2014 X250 and a 2017 X290 all the same.

That's interesting, folks. That button on mine resumes the set speed but doesn't pause it (on a 2010 X250). Perhaps it doesn't work, and if that's the case I apologise for clouding the issue.

You both had me wondering there, so I've checked the Fiat manual. It lists about 6 ways of disengaging the cruise control including turning the engine off, but it doesn't mention pressing that button, which on mine is labelled "Res", presumably for resume. I've always thought it was an obvious function for that button. One of life's little mysteries!

Conrad Anderson can provide an add-on control. I don't think it's particularly expensive.
