The vehicle is a 2015 registered 3.0L Fiat X250 with Comfortmatic. Very occasionally we notice that for no apparent reason when cruise control is set, the van will gently accelerate just for a couple of seconds and then immediately drop back. This will repeat until CC is turned off. Turn it back on and it's fine. Today, noticed when stationary at lights with CC on but not set, that the engine was gently and slightly revving. Fiat Commercials didn't recognise the problem. Suggestions?

Possibly alternator issue, if it doesn't charge properly the ecu raises engine revs to try and get it to cut in so I'd be checking alternator output first.

Thanks Dave. This only happens on CC. It is fine when CC is not on. I will ring you.
