Cromarty council buys land for Motorhome parking area.

Great news!
Reading the article, its a shame that there has been a problem with camper vans leaving their waste/rubbish behind, that is a sure way of screwing up a valuable wilding spot for everyone else.
It also seems a very big outlay on full facilities for just a few vans, then of course there are the costs of maintaining those facilities, wonder what the pitch up fees will have to be?

good to see some sensible thinking regarding the problem when it would be much easier to just ban motorhomes as most councils do

C&CC Rosemarkie and Rachael at Fortrose Bay probably not chuffed but, at least, they got the dolphins within walking distance!:)

Rosemarkie is busy enough, hard to get a few nights there in high season so I doubt if it will hurt them. Their problem is FLT's using the site when closed and breaking into the toilet blocks just to check the water is turned off!

Sounds a lot more like a campsite than nan aire and it mentions it will reduce traffic congestion from caravans so presumably aimed at them too. Sound a bit like a municipal campsite to me

FUN LOVING TALENTED people or though there maybe other versions

Sounds good but why waste money on toilets & shower when a dump point & water would be fine.

Parking for 12 isn`t going to be an instant cure but its a step in the right direction. I tried booking Fortrose not long ago but they were full.

Wonders will never cease!!

I was just there last week. Stayed at Rosemarkie C&CC site, without having booked first.
Took the van to Cromarty for the day and parked on the links. Despite very clear signs saying no overnighting, when we left there were 2 vans definitely preparing to stay, and some others which might have been.

Just like these folk! Taken at 05.30.
And the silver screens weren't on to keep the sun \ heat out as you can see!
They also had the gall to enter the caravan site next door to try and fill up with fresh water \ dump waste and "couldn't" understand why the warden politely requested they leave.
And as for one of them standing outside the site toilets waiting on somebody opening the door so they could get in for a shower!
