Strange, the Croatian's i know, do not want to be part of the EU. Although a stunning country to visit, with warm and welcoming people, issues from their history and recent past, have not yet been resolved, nor are they likely to be.
If i repeated comments from people ive spoken to out there, this post would be deleted on a racist point, sometimes, being part of something big, is not the way to go....but unfortunatly, there are some very large carrotts in the form of EU grants, that may get politicians forcing matters.

indeed... but can the EU afford another 'olive oil' country holding out the begging bowl ?

rather than adding another one they should be concentrating on sorting out the existing PIGS mess
