Yahoo news - sent to me by hubby, reading the start of the item is seemed to say these WERE the new tiers ... I sincerely hope they're not but if this ISN'T the real list then Yahoo is putting out false info.

I think it was because London and other parts of Southern UK were put into tier 3 on the 16th that they (Yahoo) showed what tier you were in at that moment in time. They should have mentioned the PM was reviewing the lockdown for other parts of the country later today, hopefully an announcement will be made later today or tomorrow.

We have been amazed over the past 9 months how many experts and idiots seem to have come together over Covid, they complain that rules are confusing that is modern speak for it just means it doesn't apply to me. They seek to break all the rules as if it is a challenge, they want all us old beggars to catch it and go away, the moaning is continual. We never realised that our Great country had gone from selling things which we produced, to eating, drinking, clubbing etc Manchester has a nightime adviser , presumably one of Burnham's ideas. The PM has told us to act responsibly over Christmas, and gets pilloried, if you don't want to catch it stay at home alone it is your decision normally we have 16 of us on Boxing Day this year we cancelled , not confusing simple and responsible. We have politicians from every side wanting to score points without any solutions, I have a saying which is "tell me which horse will win next year's Grand National not last years". I am 80, have survived 14 years after oesophageal cancer, spent time in an air raid shelter when my parents came out wondering if our house would still be standing they all got on with things, didn't have issues because their phone told them to, we were vaccinated against all sorts of things like polio ,smallpox measles etc, nobody had to consult their phone to see if they were safe. to those of you that are clever, and couldn't give a toss great, to all the others, have as good a Christmas as you can remember we are supposed to be celebrating the birth of a baby, not stuffing ourselves till it hurts.

We were expecting South Somerset to be placed in Tier 3 as the infection rates have gone up here but we are only a few hundred meters or so from Dorset that have some of the countries lowest figures.
We have two car dealers ( did have three, Covid ko’d one ) that rent properties from us and they and I were worried about another period of not being able to operate if Tier 3. I had made an agreement with them that we would not expect them to pay rent if not able to legally open. ( four months so far in 2020 ) ouch !
Still in Tier 2 thank goodness.

Put the whole of the UK into Tier 3 conditions, stop all travel in and out of the UK, no travel unless it can be proven to be essential, only shopping allowed to be essentials to survive to be ordered on line and delivered, Police given powers to stop any vehicle and check if the journey is essential, if not then huge fines, for anyone guilty, no exceptions, All essential workers, delivery drivers etc to be tested daily before starting shift.
Keep that up for a month, then test everyone and see what the results are.
That might also show these selfish idiots what living in a controlled state, ? China is like, which is the way we are heading if this virus is not curtailed,

Well I’m hoping Liverpool region stays in level 2 in January as my next door neighbour is getting their driveway and back garden landscaped and I am not hanging around to listen to that, and to inhale dust for a week or two.

I don't generally agree with Andy Burnham (in fact I find his politicking on every topic tiresome) but I do agree that his assessment that the difference between T2 & T3 as far as hospitality is minimal. T2 limited social activity in Covid secure pubs etc... but T3, socialising will happen without control in the home environment.

Very simple steps taken in Scotland, from one minute after midnight Friday the whole country is virtually in lockdown and the borders are closed. Here in Dumfries and Galloway we go from level 1 to level 4.
