Yesterday I was watching the tour de France and they showed a helicopter shot of the COUPOLE, CENTRE D’HISTOIRE ET PLANÉTARIUM near Saint Omer, it looked a bit unusual so I did a quick web search and it looked fascinating. Has anyone been been and is it worth a detour to see it. Also any recommend for Aires near by.

Yep, great place to visit if you're into WW2 structures. We stopped on the way south so didn't need an aire.

When we were there a few years ago was all very interesting, but the planetarium had no English commentary so a little limiting, but still worth a visit.

We visited it 5 years ago and found it very interesting, so would definitely say it’s worth a detour. I believe you can stay overnight in the car park

Cheers

Yes, well worth a visit, as is the V1 & V2 bunker and launch building at nearby Eperleques.

It is very interesting and the staff very friendly. We stayed overnight in the car park. Very quiet night .

Yes, visited about 5 years ago as part of a D Day tour in the van. Well worth a visit.

We visited a few years ago and thought it was interesting.
