After looking for a few years, working out exactly what we want, ordering 6 months ago.
It's 3 weeks before we make the trip to Hayes to pick up our motorhome.
We chose on a Pilote P740C with lots of factory options.
Will go and see it on the 21st, following week dump a lot of stuff ready for the pickup on the 3rd September. Then 2 nights shakedown on a site close to Hayes, possibly close to iron bridge. Home for a night then down to vanbitz for the security works.
Getting excited.

Fantastic hope all goes well. Would you mind putting an update on when your alarm system is fitted, how it went etc.
We are in process of buying new MH and looked at VanBitz for security system following good reviews from other members.

Went to check the van Monday and drop some stuff off ready to pick up.
All looked perfect, very excited as parts we had never seen like the skirt drawer, larger than I thought. Also the curtains, being yellow made the interior bright.
Only problem was the calor gas bottle, the handle was too big and it didn't fit the locker, Hayes had a calor bottle with different type of handle, lower and fitted the locker.
They are going to check and valet it before the pickup date on the 3rd

Went to Dunelm and bought all the bedding and towels.
Up in the loft to get down camping crockery etc.
All set minus initial food.
Just sorted out insurance used comfort for the first year.
Not got breakdown will see if the fiat one covers for all I need.
If not will go back to comfort for breakdown insurance.
Can't think of anything I have forgotten so all set for the 3rd.

How lovely for you! We have had a Pilote and they are great MHs. We did the factory tour in France and it was fascinating to see how a Pilote is put together from start to finish.

Enjoy.

Well after 4 years of planning, looking at motorhomes and deciding what we want.
Taking retirement the wait is over.
Tomorrow we collect our motorhome and go on a short trip, couple of nights away, a shakedown trip.
The first day of our new lives.

Make sure you do a good job of wearing it out in your retirement, enjoy it. As of today we’ve spent 12 weeks away this year, and that’s nothing compared to some. Just now sat in the Champagne region with another three weeks to go.

Picked it up today.
Left home a bit late, arrived, packed van with first trip stuff.
Paying took a bit of time, Barclays are now so carefull to stop you spending your money.
Pizza hut buffet and let son drive home.
Shown how it works, forgot how it works lol.
On testing found Pilote forgot to put in the loom from steering wheel to radio, no problem Hayes took one from another van and fitted it.
Got onto to road at 16.30 and straight to a CL site near Much Wenlock where we now are.
Electrics connected, water topped up.
Cooked pasta and couple of glasses of wine.
Daughters home made brownies.
All looking good.
Off to bed for the first sleep.
Tomorrow visit iron bridge and blist hill village.
Take a few pictures as well.

First night went ok, good night sleep, Bit warm will leave window a bit open tonight.
One lesson learnt, don't follow car satnavs, took me down a road with a 3T max bridge and 2.5m height barrier. Just turned onto road to it, interesting reverse/ 10 point turn to get to the other way.
Will get a campervan sat nav now.
Back home tomorrow then down to vanbitz on Thursday.

Travelled down to Cornish farm on Thursday, unfortunately got struck by what looks by the marks a large bit of tyre, took off a bit of plastic trim on the skirt behind the right rear wheel and left some black marks on the skirt and garage door..
Suppose it isn't too bad, first damage wasn't my fault.
Got to Cornish farm met by the site manager, made a first impression of a good friendly place, looked well run and clean, thank you. Will have to return when going that way again.
Good evening meal and slept well.
Morning, bright and early drove across to vanbitz, met and chatted about what I wanted and left them with it. Felt confident that it was in good hands and a very profession company.
Walked to town, spent a few hours looking at the museum, very interesting and well set out, lunch in the museum cafe.
Wandered back to vanbitz, bought a few things for the van on the way, and got there at 3.
Patient and good handover and explanation of the system, hope I can remember everything, don't want to set it off tonight lol. All looks perfect a good job done.
Thanks guys at vanbitz for a professional job.
Now at a britstop, the star inn for the night.
Looking forward to a meal out and a couple of ales.

Drove back home today.
No problems lol
Spent about 4 hours polishing the black marks off the garage door, body and skirt.
Skirt now has a light brown stain, as it's aluminium will try t-cut paint restorer in the hope to improve it. Will go to Halfords first thing in the morning to get some.
Monday will contact Hayes to order the plastic panel I lost.
Take van to storage tomorrow and put it to bed!!.
Enjoyed my first week motorhoming, drove 600 miles traveling from Birmingham, Much Wenlock, then down to Taunton via home in bedfordshire, after alarm fitted back home.
Found the driving easier than expected and quickly adjusted to driving a 7.5m van.
Next trip in a few weeks to Norfolk.
Any Camping and caravan sites anyone can recomend?
