Exp
Caravan & motorhome 45 + yrs
After a couple of away stays, which did not come up to expectations...

My dear wife has joined the (What was, Not sure what they call themselves now.) the Camping and Caravanning club of GB... (The friendly club).. (y)

£40 odd quid it cost... the reason is we would like to tour around and not be ripped off on site fee`s... Now...

Do they still send out a camp site guide like they used to 20 years ago.. Cannot see anything on their web site..

Or do they charge extra for the guide...

Used to love sitting planning out a route or holiday with the guide... Before the tinternet took over.. :frowny:

:thanks3:

I get a book sent out each time they produce a new one. current one is 2021-2022.

I'm assuming that you wanted the guide so you know which sites to avoid so you won't get ripped off....perhaps you could have saved more by getting a cheap copy of last year's guide ;)

Mo are you in the CMClub?

There are two levels, on line which is cheaper and paper, with the online you don't get the guide with the paper you do, if you've got the online your should be able to upgrade on the phone, but there's a time limit so don't leave it too long

They do. I would expect nothing less from Lord and Lady Mo ... us mere mortals can only dream of the luxury found at a C&C site ... heated loo seats and 2-ply lavatory paper no less.

If you are a paper member Mo you should get the Out and About guide in the post if not you can get it here.

Caravan and Motorhome Club ,a good choice of cheap CLs .
No temporary holiday sites though, or discount for older members.

old-mo you should get a nice thick guide book and a large map of GB with all the sites on, including CS'.

Depends upon what the boss has ordered. If she went for full membership you will get one free. If she just went for the cheaper digital membership only membership you won't get the book unless you pay more

Yes it is and I’ve told you before to turn your y fronts round :giggler:

OH!!!!!!!!!... I stayed at a one of their sites when we visited Judy`s sister in Durham some years ago..

We were in an RV... and I did not park exactly with the number in the middle of the rear..

Irate bloke came up after we had dropped the legs put both slides out and connected to EHU..

And asked if I would square up...

So I politely told him to offsod if he thought I was going to do that for the sake of a couple of foot..

Jumped up little sod...

Never had the need to use a temporary holiday site and the minimum booking number not helpful.
I’m in both clubs to ensure a choice of area but likely to drop out of CCClub this year.

I'm not the only one then that has found their wardens total ar*e. holes

Log into their website, top right is an option called Magazine’ click on this, this will then take you to another page, select ‘out and about‘. Once selected it allows you to scroll through THS on this year. Be warned the CCC website is crap, the THS however are excellent value. I’d do as Lenny says and download the app. There is an out and about app too.

Yes they do ths, they have a pdf that can be downloaded From their website. Difference being you do have to book, even pre covid. we’ve just done 2 1/2 weeks in West Bay Dorset.

if you are interested in the meets and THS temporary holiday sites you have to opt in to the paper copy of Out and about.
We are on the online version and have found the meets/rallies online in Out & About, there’s an app!

We’ve just spent the last 2 weeks on THS’s in Norfolk, But even they are going up in price.
The Happisburgh THS was £8.50 per night and the steward said regulars weren’t happy because it was going up to £11 next year, which is a lot to stay on a field that’s had the long grass just cut, luckily the stewards had a rack you could borrow to clear your area.
When searching I noticed THS in Wells next the Sea was £13.50 per night, so we didn’t stay there.

Booked in for a THS at Cromford this Thursday pitching up at the Rugby club £10.00 per night, whats not to like :giggle:

And Sherringham upper school will be £14 this August. Now that is expensive for a THS.😲

But if everyone parked as they wanted rather than what they were told it wouldn't work. The club/ site's legal liability would be in threads

I once rented a flat. The landlord visited one day and told me to immediately get rid of a portable gas heater I had in there . He said it was a fire hazard.

Jumped up little Sod?
