Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have been motorhoming since 2002. I currently own an Autosleeper Malvern, max. permitted laden weight 3880 kg. In light of the coronavirus pandemic I am aware that the UK Government have offered an automatic 6-month extension for MOT renewals for all vehicles below 3500kgs. Searching the UK.Gov website I have found that all buses lorries etc have been granted a 3-month extension for MOTs. There is no definition of motorhomes on the site. My question is, given that my motorhome is not a commercial vehicle but IS more than 3500kg, do I have a 6 month or a 3 month extension? I am sure that there are plenty of knowledgeable motorhomers out there, and would be most grateful for your comments.

You have a 6 months extension. It will be added to your current expiration date a few days before expiry.

Just check your mot expiry date on the govt website. You only need to type in your registration number.

My van is 4500kg 1st MOT was due 14th April, gov site now saying 13th October.

a motorhome is only a class 4 MOT so 6 month extension at the moment

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. My motorhome is currently showing on the gov.uk website as needing an mot on 12/05/2020 but, based upon your info, it is likely to receive a 6 month extension. I will continue to check the government‘s website but, once again, thankyou.

they only seem to update each vehicle within a week of it's due date
