Thanks Jim. There are a few threads running on the same theme
Ive already just asked a question on a post re Bilbao ferry.
I would like any information that funsters may have re either travelling to or from Bilbao in the next few days, not prior to the lockdown at 08.00 tmrw here in Spain.
We have a ferry booked for 24th March.
I have to get the dog sorted this Feoday for the pet passport at a local vets in Villajosa, pre booked. Assuming we get past this I intend leaving early 23rd and doing the run to Bilbao in one hit, to arrive after 16.00 and stay on the dock overnight.
Therefore to allow for this I would like to know about any delays checks lack of fuel etc etc so I can build it into the journey time.
Many thanks

Check out N332 for local and national road reports/conditions. Our site and the whole village is in lockdown so we’re staying put. Our 6th April ferry cancelled so re booked for 4th May.

Cap Finistere is still sailing so far, her Portsmouth departure this evening is on schedule. Baie du Seine has returned to DFDS as planned.

We drove Friday and got to Santander BF last night no problens.. BF state they intend to run amended as published but your challenge will be if the 0800 Monday national lockdown hinders your travel, as theoretically you can still travel home but can you convince a Guardia Civil roadblock in Spanish? or if the authorities close or restrict the port. Will your vet be open? Keep everything full and have a plan B and C . If I were you I'd get moving and as near port as possible and vet your dog there if you can.

We on Aires at Sanlucar la Guadiana. Police been round this morning and told us we cannot move for 15 days. No walking about, no socialising no sitting out. Ferry for 28th will have to be cancelled. Only allowed off Aires for food, Chemist or Doctors. Fortunately filled with gas yesterday and we have water and waste disposal on Aires. So there we have it, just have to keep smiling.😃😃🌞🥵🤧🤢

My plan re being stopped is to draft a letter and get the campsite to translate into Spanish on the campsite headed paper, explaining my reason for travel, and booking info etc.
Under the Spanish goverment statement , number 4 was the right to 'travel to habitation of residence'.

There does seem a distinct lack of communication in our area even the site reception did not have any info this morning and site was still open for business however no new arrivals yet.
The issue for us is now not to leave but ensure you have adequate provisions for 15 days or access to a shop of some description we are very lucky in that we have everything we need and a place to stay unless authorities choose to turf us off the site.
Good luck everyone and stay safe🤞🤞🤞👍

We received this just now. Spanish holidaymakers have been told to go home and self isolate. We’re lucky to have the finances and time to sit it out here. Police are patrolling the beaches and promenade, the lycra cyclists are being fined for breaking the “no sporting” rule.
stay safe peeps.

At the moment we are locked down for 15 days according local police. We are going to check tomorrow with our ferry booking to see if they will write us a pass out. All a bit in the air I think.

Just a reminder to those of you, like us, who came out by air
DO NOT ask for a refund on your return flight as that ends your contract with the airline and absolves them of their duty to get you placed on a flight home

We're at Los Escullos in Cabo de Gata. We've just been told by another camper that the police came this morning to shut the site down to new arrivals and said that the current campers were not allowed to extend their stay beyond what they have already booked. This seems totally nonsensical to me as if we are forced to leave here at the end of our booking (which is Thursday) then we won't be allowed in any other campsite. Just been to reception to check and they are saying come back tomorrow when they may know more.

Anyone passed through the Border at Irun today?

Cheers
Red.
Be there in about an hour. 🤞
Had an uneventful journey up from El Campello so far, we’re just approaching Pamplona. Traffic is light, I would say about 90% of the traffic northbound has been Northern Europeans returning to the north, the rest is locals. The southbound mohos (only a few) we’ve seen have been Spanish reg. Not seen any police. Fuel stations are open.
Our plan is to get into France just in case Spain/France border closes, but this is pure speculation at the moment, although French news is now reporting that Germany is closing its borders with France. (Quite how that’s going to work)??

The reason they are saying come back tomorrow Ann is Spain will be in total lockdown from 0800 tomorrow and yes no campsites will except new customers, it's to stop the spread, we in Javea are high risk because a lot from Madrid and Valencia own holiday homes here, and we are on day two of lockdown and we can see it lasting a lot longer than they say.
We have lots of friends left here over the last few days and made it into France but will not be happy until they get to the UK, one friend made it back to Switzerland today no problem and they will self isolate for two or three weeks. I would think you would be allowed to continue to your home land, but best check. 🤔 Bob.

We don’t know what’s happening over here in El Rocio the have actually had one van arrive this afternoon and let it in we were due to leave tomorrow but I went to reception and asked what was happening and they did not seem to know so they have extended our stay open ended I do think that we will all know a bit more tomorrow but info not very forthcoming is it?
good luck and stay safe👍🤞🤞🤞

Not much help to those still in Spain but we left a week earlier than planned and changed our sailing from Santander to Portsmouth to Caen to Portsmouth. As it happens it’s a good job we did as the sailing we had on March 23 has been cancelled along with many others due to the Pont Aven being out of action.
The plan was to drive from Benicàssim to Caen in 3 days but in the end we went Benicasim to Larouleta at St Jean de Luz and then instead of staying halfway up France we went straight to Caen and sailed on the 11pm overnight crossing. We travelled 900 mile in two days which is a lot for me but the roads were quiet and pothole free so it was doable. Travelled from Portsmouth up to North Lincolnshire today and spent half the time avoiding potholes. I know that the tolls in France cost us around €80 euros but you don’t see any potholes in them.
