Keep safe Maurice?I have not been in contact with any one... or near any one since my last hospital visit over two weeks ago..
And after tomorrow treatment and Endiscope thingy at the hospital..... Providing they give me the all clear...
I shall travel up to my little bolt hole... (Which we are paying full Council Tax on as well as our main home.)
I will not be in contact with anyone, I will take the dog out for a walk and will go down the beach fishing... and will stay at least 100yds away from any person`s...
As far as I know I do not have the virus now and DON`t want it.... as for me to get it would certainly spell the end... (Words from my Cardio specialist at last visit.... In view of my situation, I am surprised they have not cancelled tomorrows appointment.)
So, like others travelling to their holiday cottages, unless they have the virus now..
What difference does it make as long as they carry on and Self Isolate. ?????

Cornwall is one of the most socially deprived areas of our country, with poor infrastructure and local health facilities. I certainly wouldn't want to be there with this virus. Add to that the anger of the locals who wouldn't be seeing the benefits of your holiday pound, but would be justifiably anxious that you were a carrier, and I can't see why anyone would do it.

I think the definition of social deprivation in Surrey might be different to some other places. They’re socially and economically deprived and whilst the infrastructure is geared to a small population, that population is spread over a wider area than many counties in the rest of the country. Centres of Medical excellence, for example, are very few and far between, certainly compared to where I live. I’ll reiterate my opinion, if I was going to be ill I wouldn’t choose to do it in Cornwall, and I wouldn’t expect the locals to welcome me for trying.
The people of Cornwall are well used to being moved to hospitals outside the county as the hospitals they have lack some specialist skills and facilities. It's a regular story on the local news. Some folk have had family members moved to places as far away as Birmingham and probably beyond. An alternative view. the community of Cornwall and lots of other places are quite happy to have the visitors during the summer. They also cope in ensuring that there are enough foodstuffs and 'stuff' available to encourage the visitors and are constantly looking for ways to extend the season and attract more visitors. so there should be no problem with foodstuffs and groceries etc.
The NHS also allow you to choose to have an operation/surgery at the hospital of your choice, i wonder if any people from Cornwall have ever gone outside of Cornwall and sought treatment? I also have the right to be treated at any hospital if i become ill.
Static van owners, second home owners will all pay 'something' towards council tax - whether in site fees or actual council tax, so those people also have a right to spend time there! Those in the service industry will profit from the extra income as will shops that are allowed to stay open.
i'm not sure if people in Cornwall are aware, but the NHS have to facilities to move patients from one hospital to another, if there were to be a national disaster of some sort in Cornwall, would people from Cornwall be moved to other locations/hospitals etc?
I live in Clacton on Sea, we have a large amount of holiday homes (statics) that are now occupied by 'incomers' - they are trying to find a way of dealing with the current situation, can anyone blame them wanting to do that?

Not relevant to the topic but, what a beautiful photograph thoughI’m not sure the folks of Cornwall are socially deprived, quite the opposite in many ways, but there are certainly areas of economic deprivation and the infrastructure is geared to a relatively small population.
I have to say from my little bubble I haven’t seen the influx of people many feared. Mevagissey is like a ghost town. However, that’s probably not the case in some places and attitudes to visitors and 2nd home owners are definitely hardening. Anybody coming here for Easter won’t feel very welcome for sure. The Council are visiting tourist accommodation and Airbnb premises and serving closure notices if they appear to still be trading. Anybody staying there might be turfed out at short notice! I imagine the Police will be active on the A30 & A38 this weekend.
Where’s everybody gone?

I think what 'Foreigners' (them blamed Emmets) are unaware of is that many in Cornwall do not see themselves 'English', any more than a Catholic from Northern Ireland would.
The Cornish are part of the Celtic fringe, they have a lot more in common with the people of Brittany and Ireland than they do with the people of England, despite a common language.
It is the only part of the UK that is still a Duchy, like Luxembourg.
Over 80% of the land is still owned by a handful of 6 families (including the Duke)
The capitals of Paris, Dublin and Swansea are all closer than London.
There is a story, which I'm told is true, that during the Napoleonic wars of the early 1800's the British Army came recruiting in Cornwall. There was a collective gathering where the discussion was which side should Cornwall be on; England or France ?
The British Army put a stop to the meeting before a vote could be taken, but the assumption was that France would have won the vote by a considerable margin.
Hence it is quite surprising there was not a full customs check on the 3 roads into Cornwall a couple of weeks ago, blocking all but freight from the Duchy.
It might have saved a lot of lives had they done it.
