since 2006 ( I think ! )
Not sure that can be done direct, though I believe there is a converter available to shift from AXE to GPX format..

I personally use Garmin Mapsource to plan a route as it is directly compatible and directly uploadable to the garmin units

Thanks Jaws autoroute allows you to save the route as a gpx just do not know where to put this file on the garmin or if it is possible.

Hmmmm
GPX files are more normally associated with Points of Interest ( POI's )

Routes are generally .GDB's I believe

But.... You could upload the GPX file and use the POI's to plot your route I guess ?

Plug the GPS in to a USB port
When it comes up you want to view files

Look in the Garmin folder and you will find a sub directory ( folder ) called GPX.
Upload you gpx file to that and it should find it in Points of interest.
