Steak nights cooked outside on a Friday
Delia’s spag bol ( batch cooked) for first night away in the van
Rotisserie chicken ( got our own rotisserie)
We cook as we would at home , can’t understand all those foreign vans and their lack of proper cooking facilities.

Ian makes a good curry. There are two rules in the van for a curry night.
Close the bedroom door/partition
Make extra for lunch the next day! 😊
Following the recipe in the book the base sauce makes about 9 meals (3 days supply😆) I had to make it in a big cauldron 😊 after that though you can knock one up in 20 mins.

Our freezer leaves the house with a lot of vegetarian options for me. I could actually get Quorn in Gibraltar this year. Worth knowing for next year.

When was the last time you cleaned that pan?

Me thinks you don't understand how foreigners cook.
Don't use our oven very often apart from par-baked bread for brekkies.

I usually cook a Sunday dinner. I put a whole chicken into the Remoska and cook roasties/stuffing balls in the air fryer. Then do two or three veg on the hob.

We have a foreign van, without one of those useless gas ovens. :ROFLMAO:

Might be because their pensions are better than ours and they can therefore afford to go out more!

During the summer and when in France/Spain, I cook outside. Who wants an oven on in the MH when it’s hot? We have a table top Cadac, two gas burners and a real BBQ for decent meat.

Curry lovers here too. We try to make one in the van most Saturdays. We mainly do BIR (British Indian Restaurant) style curries using a base gravy. There are a few we follow on YouTube, and we’ve also just bought a book called ‘curry compendium’ by Richard Stayce, AKA ‘Misty Ricardo’, who is also on YouTube. We have turned out some stunning ruby’s following and using these guys recipes. Al’s Kitchen is another firm favourite. All done in our ninja foodie I might add.👍

Our French van is from 2011 and we're the third owners. Both the oven and hob look brand new. Having said that, so does everything else. He's only done 52,000km but, still, we were super impressed at how good he looked when we first saw him. We don't plan on ever doing any 'serious' cooking in him, either, as I can't bear the smell getting onto my furnishings, clothing etc. So, even though we have proper cooking facilities, I think they'll stay looking brand new :)

Every now and again, we order half dozen meals from our local Indians, complete with stuffed naans etc. and put them in the freezer. We then extract a couple each time we go on tour or business in my case... so we can bung in the oven on an evening - and are perfect after 6 beers or so....

Does that count as cooking?

At home Friday is Curry night-I spend all day ( literally) cooking from scratch -getting fresh curry leaves the hardest here ( no Indian shops in SoA ) and take frozen dal and side dishes in van, make main veggie curry in van and heat up home made nans in oven . Love curries!

Yes if you want 😊 👍

These naan breads are sold by morrisons and Tesco and are excellent, better than most you get in restaurants...

Just about everything is made from scratch (even the sourdough pizzas) and either prepared in the van or done at home and chilled/frozen. Use either hob or cadac and occasionally the tec tower oven

If you like Misty Ricardo also check out Dan Toombs the curry Guy https://greatcurryrecipes.net/

Really good books and videos I went on one of his tandoor cooking classes last year in Yorkshire and made the most amazing curries.

Many years ago, I was a 'tugger' and bought a new caravan that HAD to have an oven!

In the 6yrs I owned van, I only used it once. Both it, and the one I have at home, were/are used for storage not for cooking.

Large Pressure Cooker, griddle plate and Combi Microwave for me (not forgetting my latest Clevercook Pro )

same in many spanish houses , they use an outside kitchen in summer.
