Link to a campaign to encourage Welsh camp sites to open as they believe they can adhere to social distancing in MH and Caravans etc....

Link Here

No camp sites are open, so they are jumping the gun a little

Can't see the link, private content, probably from a private group

Likewise.

I would certainly support if there is another way to access it.

According to the OP the campaign is to allow them to open.

Can’t access the link itself, as we are not on Facebook, to see exactly what it is about. Can anyone provide a usable link or “cut and paste” the detail?

I hardly think Wales will allow it, they only let people out to go to a local shop, they are hardly going to open up campsites to tourists, especially not English ones '\

You are quite right about the 5 mile limit but it is already seen as too restrictive by many people here. It is being reviewed today and will br reported on at the daily briefing tomorrow, at 1230hrs.

Hospitality Businesses and the tourist trade are lobbying hard for an easing of restrictions in order to avoid bankruptcy and an increase in unemployment. Changes do need to be made here, and soon.

I guess that there is people who have been lucky enough to be furloughed or made redundant with money burning a hole in their pockets and want to get out and spend it, so want everything open now.

Welsh Gov ideology isnt going to help a quick opening , even tardier than the SNP !

The Welsh indigenous people don’t like the English entering their land even when there is no virus, I expect they will drag this ban for as long as they can🤭

It will be interesting to see what happens if they managed to get the rate down to what it is in mainland Europe it could well be we are excluded on the grounds of being from a risky area even after restrictions are lifted for residents.

If the campsite is in a small community anyone visiting will not find a welcome in the hillside. Small communities are rightly or wrongly verging on the paranoid when it comes to strangers at the moment. with a lot of the campsites owned by English incomers it is unlikely that the campaign will have much traction within Wales.

Meibion Glyndŵr still influencing from the '80s then ?

In some ways it is understandable that the lockdown has been more severe in Wales. As. Result the R rate has been reduced to between 0.5 and 0.8, lower than England.

The worry is that, Mark Drakeford for purely political reasons, will keep the 5 mile limit in place.

I was in Wales on Tuesday. Hired a van (in England) in order to move our nephew, from his flat into his new house.

Luckily I had my wife with me. She’s a Valleys Girl......even I don’t try to mess with her! Apparently, she married me as she was a Welsh Missionary trying to spread the good word about Wales.:giggle:

Yes, we maintained distancing as best we could. Don’t think his sofa was quite 2 metres, but we had gloves and masks.

Incorrect, it hasn't been that low! We still believe that that the situation has still not peaked in North Wales. Seven Sisters Factory in Llangefni today shut down for two weeks. 90 employees sent home last week for quarantine, at least 15 employees have tested positive ?? 🤔

You weren’t stopped then, on the way in or out?

Agree with you Otter Spotter, have been a recipient of a “ Welsh welcome” and swore to never go back to somewhere where I wasn’t welcome.
Son’s father in law, a Welshman, was talking in English to his brother when he went into a shop in Wales, the staff, who had been talking in English, changed to speaking Welsh, making derogatory remarks about the “English men”. He rapidly castigated them, but understands my reluctance to ever go back.

Whilst born in London, I've spent a lot of time in South Wales over the last 30 years, including living here for the last 12

One reason I retired here is because the people are the friendliest you could meet anywhere in the World (and I've travelled a bit)

I'm sure there's people here who aren't friendly, but there again I've met some miserable & rude motorhomers , but I don't assume all motorhomers are the same

Yawn Yawn!! You forgot to mention ;- Singing; coal tips, holiday home burning oh... and sheep....

This happened to me and my old man many years ago in north wales, only my old man, English by birth had learned a little welsh as he worked on a power station in snowdonia. You should seen the look of abject horror on the faces of the landlord and the local bar hangers on were told they could stick their warm beer up their Ar@ses and we walked out.

They’ve removed the check points from the borders........and it’s now free to get in. :giggle:

My wife’s got a strong Welsh accent, so I let her do all the talking. Being the only Englishman in my family I know my place.:censored::giggle:

I know Calon Lan from start to finish.......that’s more Welsh than my Father-in-law, Brother-in-Law and most of the rest of the Welsh side of the family. Always have great holidays in Wales........great for motorcycling as well.(y)

my wife is a valleys girl and i am from the same valley.... BUT..... you are not the only one who knows which side his bread is buttered!!

I grew up in South Wales and went to school there. All my family live there still and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to go and see them again if that First Minister buttie gives the people their freedom tomorrow. We’ve heard announcements from NI and Scotland today, but zippo from Drakeford.

Went up to RAF Conningsby airfielD on Tuesday. Visitor park and other available space,, packed,, talk about social distancing. I think camp sites could manage it very well but would lower numbers be financially viable. The clubhouse couldn't open yet
