Many times in the past people have been told "remove from wall, unplug, wait a minute, plug in and try again".

You could also check your leisure battery volts first.

Give Sargents a ring - they've been excellent talking me through problems. If possible phone from the van in case they ask you to try certain tests.

I rang Sargent and they told me the light was flashing because to much power was going into the battery and the power was stopped to protect the battery from frying
So they said cover the solar panel and if the control panel returned to normal the regulator on the solar panel is not working.
I have just had a tow bar and electrics fitted is it possible they caused the problem or is a coincidence .

Can't really see how having towbar electrics fitted could cause it ? Probably a coincidence.

Do as Brian Said.. remove from wall, unplug the ribbon cable ( it simply pulls off and is a plug so very easy ) count ten and refit

I ( as others will tell you ! ) have extensive experience of Sargent systems !!

I rang Sargent and they said cover the solar panel and if the control panel works its the charge controller/regulator.I have had someone round yesterday and he can't find it,so he has disconnected a lead from the leisure battery to the panel hopefully(i will have to wait until the sun comes out to test it).So at least i will be able to go on holiday, then get it booked into get it fixed.

Why dont you do as suggested above? You have asked for help so why not try it? You have nothing to lose.
