Evening funsters

Mrs B and myself changed to Three on contract for unlimited texts and calls with 12 gb of data for 9.50 a month. It has gone up with inflation but not a lot. I was told at the time that when Bxxtxt came Three would not introduce any extra changes as their parent company, Hutchinson Telecom is Chinese based so the EU did not affect them. That was then and this is now. They are now going to terminate all overrun contracts and change them onto one month rolling contracts for 15.00.

We are now looking to change both our contract sums. We are not big users, texts calls unlimited seems to be the norm, the data bit, we do not use much data just the odd email, WhatsApp and Google. A lot of the networks have no problems with that but when you mention you are going away for more than 2 weeks they change their tune. As it stands we will go to Spain for 90 days a return to UK they to France on a long stay visa (say 4 to 5 months) then repeat.

I have had a look about and O2 does not look too bad, but I would appreciate the advice of the comb9ned knowledge of the Funsters. We also want to port out numbers so new deals are not an option.

We are with virgin media that is linked now with O2
Just coming to the end of our 90 days in France no problem with restrictions at all.
I have 200gb of data and use for internet and tv not a problem.
I’m not sure you will get anything that will cover the additional time away, though I may be wrong.

My contract with three is coming to an end mid October and will replace it with a 30 day contract sim only
I would of gone with lebara with their half price offers but I don't have any Vodafone signal at home.

I think the next best for me is transferring to a payg sim from RWE who use the EE network

I took out a Lebara SIM, first 6 months 1p month with unlimited calls and 10gb data a month, no contract. Worked fine in France and working well as I type this

I’ve been with smarty for over a year now, very pleased, plus no contract and if needed abroad you can buy extra SIM cards .

I moved to O2 from Three as they wanted £2.00 per day for data access.
You can negotiate deals with some of the company's but O2 is still totally free.
I pay £8.00 for 20Gb with no roaming charges in Europe
You have to ask your present supply for a PAK code number to transfer your phone number

I’m moving to Smarty from Three because of the £2 per day roaming charge.
Wife referred me so both get £10 Amazon credit.

Smarty had an offer of 50 gig, unlimited minutes and texts for £10. 12gig can be used in Europe each month. It runs on the three network.

O2 is best of main networks for roaming, but do check if 90 days at a time is against the fair use policy.

I switched both our phones from 3 to O2 because of the new data charge when abroad. Remember to contact O2 before you travel to let them know you are going abroad, I didn’t and had a load of grief trying to get my data to work. Got there in the end even though the girl on the O2 help line didn’t know France was in Europe, she kept trying to sell me a bolt on for international travel.
