good morning all, does anyone use an oxygenator in their mh? A concern of mine would be the pilot light in mh for the gas ?. Anyone have any views on this please. Tia Gail

There is quite a lot of information on-line but I would ask the manufacturer for advice as they are the experts rather than take opinion from others. The consequences of getting it wrong is quite severe.

Hi thank you. I have googled and people do use them, but you’re right the manufacturer would give the best advice.

Any oxygen rich area is going to be more of a fire hazard, I think it would state on your oxygenator avoid open flames. Good point though and I think you should get it clarified by the supplier preferably in writing.

Is the pilot light on all the time? Is it not spark ignition when switching to gas?

Once lit with the spark the flame burns continuously, alternating between a strong flame which does the cooling and a pilot state which doesn't do much cooling.

But in answer to the OP the flame is outside the living area so shouldn't be a problem. If you can light the hob without losing your eyebrows then no need to worry. :)

Hi Malcolm, yes hubby and I chatted about that this morning. That’s what the sparker is for isn’t it. And no ? I don’t burn my eyebrows when lighting the hob. I’ll have a word with one of my Brothers as well, just to get another opinion. Thank you for your input it really helps ?.

I must be having a silly moment, of course when you turn the gas off it goes off for the pilot as well doh and actually there isn’t a pilot is there ??. So long as we don’t use gas at night when hubbys using oxygen then no problem. Yes it was a blond moment ?
