Connectors at the rear

Hi I have a 1996 Swift Kontiki ... at the rear of the van underneath are two connectors that appear to be 'hose' connectors, one looks like a garden hose connector plastic bayonet type... the other is a steel connector covered with a rubber sheath. Looking through the literature that came with the van I cannot find any reference to these connectors, nor any internal switches.
If anyone has any ideas as to what they are for and how they work, I'd be grateful
