With our compressor fridge, we have two 95W solar panels with a 230Ah leisure battery and regularly (in normal times) spend 3 or 4 days off-grid with no probs. We could survive off-grid longer and our only need for campsite/aire facilities is to dispose of waste and take on more water.
They are no more noisy than fridges operating on gas or mains elec.

Absolutely fantastic, only thing we bought new when we did our van and not regretted it for a single moment, freezes in the south of France , can't hear it running, solar panel keeps it going for three days.
Brilliant, get one you won't regret it. (y) :giggle:

One of the noise issues tends not to be the compressor, but evaporatoration.

When the liquid refrigerant is forced through the expansion valve (in the case of domestic / leisure compressor refrigeration it’s a simple capillary tube). The liquid enters the evaporator and evaporates (boils).

This results in a snoring, squirting noise that can be super annoying.

If the capillary is not dampened during manufacturing, sometimes it can be added. I’ve done a few of these for campers are they are amazed how much quieter it is.

mots very simple. I will take a photo and post it

We have a household 230v compressor fridge running off the inverter.
200w solar and 235ah battery.
No problem in summer and ok for a good few days over winter, longer if driving.
Ours takes about 5 amps for 5 mins, about 3 times an hour, so not a lot over 24 hours.
Would definitely do it again.

Are you sure.... That's only 60 watts input from the inverter.
Our domestic fridge is 230watts...that would be 20 amps battery drain from an inverter
Yup, I'm sure.
It takes about 15 amps on startup, dropping to 5-6 over a second or two. Reading off a battery monitor.

It's only an under-counter small one. About 90 litres.

113kwh/pa if that helps.
