Concorde Himmelfahrt 2018 - Is anyone attending? (1 Viewer)

We've just received our invitation to the Himmelfahrt event in May. We didn't think it was on this year as previously it was bi-annual - but its now changed to yearly... great!

Is anyone here planning to go? We are hoping to incorporate it into our pre-planned trip to France/Germany.

Its a factory bash much like the N+B one but a bit more exclusive I think you need a booking rather than just turning up.



While you are there you can go down the road to Morelo.

Thanks Martin, would love to go but its a bit soon this year, not picking ours up whilst about 10thish of April then all the usual registering may take 4 weeks so can't book really. Would love to go and also to the Morelo factory for a nosey around too.

That’s strange Martin. I’ve just checked again - here’s a snippet from Southdown’s invite. I’ll call them tomorrow to clarify.

‘We are pleased once again to invite Concorde owners to join us at this year's annual 'Himmelfahrt'', Concorde's largest regular customer event. Centred around the Concorde factory and the surrounding Franconian countryside, the event is always very popular with Concorde owners from Europe. The event runs from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th May 2018.’

I’m sure SD’s have the dates wrong... is that why you asked Martin? It’s odd that they’d get something like that incorrectly listed..

It won’t affect our plans to attend though. Has anyone been before?

If it is the 13th etc. there is no chance as it is Basia's Mother's 97th Birthday. These sort of dates are more precious in Poland than UK. I do not care a flying F***** about these things - it is my b'day this month and Basia is away, which is good because there can be no fuss. I always say I only have hearsay information about my date of birth - home not hospital and registered later by my Mother, who could be economical with the Truth.

A slight aside, but how many of you of our age (65+) could provide irrefutable evidence of your DoB?

Off to France in a week for 11 days and then in June down the south for 2 months .

SD have got dates wrong. It is as Martin say 10th -13th. I spoke to them this afternoon and they will send out new emails. We are booked in. Have been twice before and had a great time. Lovely part of Germany. Look forward to meeting some of you there.

Apparently last year Morelo ran a bus from them to Concorde and back its about 5 miles away at Schlusselfeld so OK by bike as well.
