Firmware - BIOS; background stuff the computer uses before any anything is ever put on, only really understood by teenage hackers and geeks in dark rooms.

Hinderware - Also known as Windows, will hinder your computer with a built in desire to slow anything down you add to it, crash at will with unexpected error occurred and generally take over and update at the most inappropriate moment
