Hi everyone

Please bear with me this might be a bit long winded. Lorraine my O/H sadly lost her mum to Cancer last month and in a moment of madness I agreed to run a marathon in aid of cancer research.

Well instead of just coming on here and asking you lot for money I thought id make it a bit of fun while I try and raise some sponsorship.

I spoke with a few traders on MHF and told them what I was doing and wondered if they could assist well I was amazed at the generosity of total strangers.

So here is my plan below is a list of prize’s kindly donated by fellow Funsters and all you have to do to win one of these fabulous prize’s is sponsor me and also guess my time in the Marathon. To help you do this I started running about a year ago and have done a 10k in 51minutes a ½ marathon in 1.49.16 and my aim for the marathon is to finish it, id love to do it in 4hours but think 4.30 is more realistic.

Just a wee update on my Training as im on holiday in France at the moment i have only done 2 small but fastish runs since Friday hopefully get another in tomorrow and a long run at weekend depends what we are up to and where we are.

Had a few small injuries so hopefully doing small runs will give me time to recover or maybe just getting old

Treacle i think the way i feel just now you should change your time to 4 days and 15 hours

Will be back on the road tomorrow with the aim of doing a couple of 10m this week and a 15 before i go back to work. Think the snails in France are affecting my speed though

Just a wee update now i am back my holidays training went a bit slow while on holiday. did a 9.1/2 mile tonight though so back into the swing of things as its 6 weeks today. thanks again to everyone who has sponsored me i am still not sure who a couple of you are though as i have names of people on my just giving page that i dont know so i assume they are from here so any chance you could let me know your names if you haven't already done so.

Hope your not all getting bored with this but did say id keep folk updated on how my training is going may start a new thread to save folk reading it all.

Did a 16mile run to day when i left the house it was nice and sunny with in the first 3m a massive hail storm only lasted 2mins then about 20mins later another one so had a sore head with the hail hitting it . Got home and my nipples where killing me and when i had a look down my tee shirt was covered in blood so think i'll be buying a sports bra next week

My time was 2hr 23m 27secs and i felt fine after it then i went and sat in an ice bath for 10mins heard somewhere its good for you well im beginning to doubt that so sitting here now with sore nipples and numb balls of my feet due to ice.
