the search goes on and we've bought THE book  we are taking this research thing very seriously ... does anyone know why Compass are not made anymore? Are there issues around buying one if no longer being manufactured?
cheers

Compass is a brand owned by the Explorer Group, as is Elddis. Explorer used to release basically the same vans under the two brands with only subtle differences (e.g. Compass Avantgarde & Elddis Autoquest ranges).

A year or two back Explorer decided to concentrate just on the Elddis brand. There shouldn't be any issues as a result because the company is still going strong.

Firestorm was actually Barrons/Discover, though they did do a special for Brownhills as well.

Having said that, the Elddis Autoquest 100 which we owned had the same "extras" as a Firestorm branded model of the same vintage ::bigsmile:

Mainly bought by the upper crust (those with muscles)
They also demonstrate their wealth with grey Moroccan mats:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi Dotdot - as Graham has said there shouldn't be any issues with buying a Compass - we bought an '02 Compass Avantgarde last September as our first MH and are very pleased with it - just returned from a week in Scotland with no problems whatsoever. It's not so luxurious as some, and I suppose could be described as being towards the lower end of the scale, but that's reflected in the price you pay (or should be) and it's certainly not a cheap and nasty 'van. We love ours, and will be in no hurry to replace it.
