I like Klim gear from the states, sold in UK by this bunch:-

http://www.adventure-spec.com/

Not cheap, typically only the outer shell, but really good. You then select your base/mid layers as best suit you and/or the season.

They were recently selling off some Klim stock in small sizes too, no good for me as I'm at the other end of the scale. ;)

tempting, but the parking fees for our 8.5m tag would be more than the cost of commuting! :)
But you would also get 4 hours a day of your life back,I used to do 12 hour shifts with an hour each way travel. It gets to you in the end

I will see how it pans out as there is quite a variation on shift length depending on events over the previous 24 hours and hours worked during the month, so some days will be less than 8 hours including the travelling!

If you're gonna commute, get a bike with fairing.

So an up-date is in order.

I have been driving on a daily basis and in hindsight, I am very glad the XJR1300 has stayed tucked up in the warm garage! :xThumb:

Any thoughts of adding an additional motorbike(s) to the stable has now been scuppered by an unplanned purchase of a property in need of complete renovation.

I am now in the market for a new cement mixer instead! :xdoh:

My commute to work sometimes takes 10 - 15 seconds depending if I'm barefoot or wearing flip flops. The pool takes 15 mins to clean, then a lie down and talk bollox on here :)

I wonder because of the world we live in now how many hours are wasted commuting to work.

I could easily have earned a 6 figure salary in That London, but couldn't be bothered with the commute and hassle. So settled for a bit less money with better commute.

Get another job,,, round the corner!! Lol

My particular (or is that peculiar) skill-set has a very limited marketplace so employment opportunities are quite limited.

Hoping that refurbishing and extending the new property will bring us a significant step closer to calling it quits on the work front and then commuting will be a thing of the past. (y)

my Bank Manager has a similar sentiment! :)

good luck with the house

its a bungalow on 1/4 of an acre and not touched since 1972 other than a shower being fitted in place of the bath 6 years ago! A time capsule full of GPlan and Stag furniture in various shades of cream's, orange's and yellow's.

and the commute

Just been looking at the cost of public transport season tickets - £3680 for a year! Will be sticking with driving for now! :)
