Nice photo of the Avocets, the other, not sure of the colour play.

Hi very good photos, wonder what the Liverpool one would look like up side down !

Just a thought Roy

Looks a bit odd. I think the perspective is skewed.

Good idea to try though.::bigsmile:

John

By the way, Steely Steph, I do like the originals, particularly the birds.

Avocet picture pretty good, but being really picky, the farthest bird is in sharper focus than the nearer one. Did you have a small enough aperture to put both birds in sharp focus? If conditions prevented this, an option would have been to wait until only one was in frame.

Dockland scene I'm not so sure about. To my mind it lacks a focal point despite the intention being one of balanced equilibrium. The obvious item is the chimney, but being central, the eye keeps wandering off to other points of interest. For example, the trees in green at lower left or the boat. Then the tower cranes at the extreme left are cut off and lead the eye out of the frame. Finally, the rope in the lower left corner is a bit distracting. So in fact, the picture does not deliver balanced equilibrium.

Sorry if this seems a bit harsh, but your request for opinions took me back to camera club days when competition judges used to say things like that about my pictures.

super pics. I love the liverpool one as it is. but i would clone out rope bottom left and the crane top left. both just a tad distracting.

Two really good pics, could you send me a high res copy of both as I would like to use at least one as a canvass for my office.
Is it just a hobby or are you a photographer? I really like the Liverpool one as it reminds me of Graphic design at school, drawing 3-d perspective drawings using a central point and showing the proportioned angles affecting the scales.
It is often something I would like to take up but my hands are too shaky for Photo's!

loved both pictures

To me the liverpool one is quite clever and depicts Liverpool in depression - black and white section then the up and coming new modern liverpool as it has been transformed

Enjoyed both, well done xxxx

Jeez, these have been pulled up from the distant depths ::bigsmile:

To answer the questions - No, not a photographer, just a hobby.

I can send RAW format images but they are large files.

Thanks again for the comments.:thumb:
