Discovered a crack in windscreen this morning, bit of inconvenience as we are off Wednesday for 7 weeks but as its passenger side think its OK to drive.

Anyway called Aviva on the number given in Comfort policy which goes to Aviva, press 2 for glass cover and get directed to National windscreens to arrange appointment. Obviously not likely to get fitted anytime soon if they have to order one from factory but at least they can get ball rolling.

Question is in the policy it says unlimited cover with Autoglass but 3k if any other company does it so does anyone know if Comfort/Aviva have changed supplier's for glass?

EDIT....
Just called Comfort (did not think open on Saturday afternoon but they were) and National windscreens are now part of the act and when you call the Aviva number you will get put through to either one.

Hi.
It may have changed but . 4-5 yrs ago,i was in Belper,Derbyshire with a chipped windscreen. . Rang the Glass providor for Comfort Ins.,they could not get it fitted in for about a fortnight. Rang a Local Belper windscreen Co......" Tomorrow " ( Fiat Ducato ) While i was on the phone i explained all this, they told me providing i get the Comfort Approval, they could do it for nearly half the price. Rang Comfort again, they said " Go ahead ". Next day the windscreen was out and the new one fitted, when it was all done and paid for,one of the fitters did the " Magic " with his phone to Comfort and that was the end of that , we got a cheque back from. Would use both companies again if back in the UK.

Ours is an A class curved screen so doubtful anyone will have it as stock item!

Had the same scenario prior to going to France for 6 weeks ie.cracked screen. Autoglass said no problem visit local centre. On arrival the guy shook his head as they had ordered a Sprinter screen and not an A Class curved one.
Long story short, tried to get me to accept a non OEM screen. No thanks I’ll get someone else to do it. Hey presto we can get an OEM. Returned from France and still waiting for a response from them.
IMO don’t be fobbed off.
6 weeks in France and crack only moved a few millimetres.
Go and enjoy your holiday.

It appeared overnight on driveway and looks to be heading sidewards so hopefully I'll be OK. Yes not going to accept OEM one, will play the warranty card, just annoyed and going to have to get new LEZ stickers plus the DAB aerial is stuck on the inside of screen.

We are with Comfort had a new A Class screen fitted. Rang the number National Windscreens answered, 2 day later Autoglass came and checked the screen and ordered a new one I asked for an OEM screen they said it would take about 7 days. 10 days later genuine Hymer screen fitted.

MichaelT “ Snap”. Annoyed for same reasons and mine appeared overnight as well.

Sorry if this is a silly question but what does OEM windscreen mean please.
never mind wife just asked Mr Google😄

Always go for OEM factor ones sometimes don't get the curved profile correct!!
we had our Burstner go just as we were about to leave for France. New one arrived 10 days latter.

A class, comfort insurance.
First chip invisible mend by autoglass
Second too large, auto glass were going to replace screen, but said they might damage front leccy blind.
Comfort agreed to OEM fitment - came in pence shy of £3k.

We had a side window go in Germany, rang the NFU and they fixed it all from here, booked auto glass and rang us about three times a day to see how it was going, it was at a weekend, signed a thing when it was done first thing Monday morning and never heard another word about it.

Just had a text from national windscreen to send pictures, sent couple of windscreen plus one showing the Dethleffs part number and recommendation to order thru Reliance CMS let's see what occurs 😁

Update.

Still waiting for them to procure a screen, not too bothered as we are now away for a while so good job the van is still drivable or we would be missing a holiday.
