I have had a few quotes and Comfort come at at the cheapest.....they don't need your NCB from your car either.

We are know cheapest are rarely the best but does anybody have good/bad experiences about them.
Any alternative good insurers would also be appreciated.
TIA

we are with Comfort, no complaints from us and you can actually speak to somebody when you need to! I believe some have had renewal quotes significantly higher than the previous year, thankfully we have not had that issue (yet!)

Agree with above, had a my fault 🙄 claim 2 years ago, premium this year went down a little to around £300 + £69 for breakdown cover if I remember correctly 👍

It varies, with them for years then premium went up (same van ) tried them again this year and quoted nearly double existing company, but you may find different, just don't understand insurance prices

They were fine, and competitive on price. We left because they would offer no cover for Turkey or Morocco
Did you find anyone who does as that's my only gripe with safeguard who are otherwise excellent

We have found them very good, the one claim we have had they handled very well.
Whenever we have phoned them with a query they have been very helpful and given clear straight answers.

Another vote for Comfort. I had a claim against me which was my fault. They dealt with it quickly. Price wise they are very reasonable for the level of cover the give. Been with them about seven years, but I do compare prices when renewal come around.

Been with Comfort for 5 years and we are paying less now for the same cover than we did when we started with them.

The only claim we have made with them was for a new windscreen for our A Class. All dealt with by Autoglass and new OEM windscreen. The first one they fitted cracked before I could even move the motorhome. Autoglass came out quickly and put a new one in as part of their guarantee.

Been using Comfort since 2019.
Other than they would not cover our van outside our house and sent a 5 page questionnaire to be filled in by our storage place, Comfort seem very good.

However we have not needed to make a claim yet, nor needed the breakdown service.
So really you need comments from those that have experience of company when it all goes wrong.

Been with Comfort for years
Renewal in the past has been very small increase, and has actually gone down a couple of times. We have made a claim in the past, and used their breakdown service twice. All good.

make sure you are happy with the T&Cs as there are a couple like leaving the van for ?? hours not in it's designated storage location.

As an A side ALWAYS read the small print.

We have Comfort. They are backed by Aviva. We had a claim this year when heavy rain did for our sun canopy. I got a replacement sorted whilst we were still in Spain and the dents done within a few weeks of returning.

We are happy.

There is the condition that it should not be left unattended away from the registered storage place for more than 36hours.
Ours is currently at home with wheel clamp steering lock alarm tracker etc and a car parked across the front of it so it can't be moved without moving the car.
As its here for us to load up prior to going away tomorrow its not unattended.
The key word is unattended as otherwise we wouldn't be able to go away in it at all.

I think she told me 48 hrs but I will check again

Another vote for Comfort. 👍

And another for Comfort , been with them for years now , have read all the small print and don’t have any issues with its content ( possibly much the same as other insurance companies) . Never had a claim and never needed to use breakdown cover so can’t comment on that. Always get to talk to someone when I get new quote and always been very helpful , premium only went up by £8.00 this year and that’s only because of some tax they pay. They even sent follow up email as I didn’t take breakdown cover as I have 1 year old van , it’s still covered with Fiat Camper Assist .

We store our van in a covered and locked barn on a farm. I’ve tried Comfort a couple of times but they want the ins and outs of the storage place. Eg is there CCTV, is it fenced, who has access, is it always locked, who has the keys, is there anything else in the barn etc etc. It’s much simpler with Caravanguard who take the location for what it is. Having said that I’ve never had to use Caravanguard for any claims, but a few years ago Saga were excellent on getting some storm damage sorted.

First rule of Insurance (or any financial product supplier) is show as much loyalty to them, as they do to you; i.e. none whatsoever.

Currently with Comfort on my second year. Premium went up slightly for the second year, but only about 1%.
Was with Saga, but on the third year renewal, the premium shot up about 60% with no reason why. Sacked them and went with Comfort.

Renewal due soon, so let's see what that come out as.

Probably a new thread, but is there a list of all the Insurance Providers that Funsters have used/are using? Are there any that offer deals to Funsters? Are the clubs better or worse with their insurance advice/recommendations?

We're with Comfort and have been since we started Motorhoming 15 years ago.
No complaints and their inclusive European Breakdown cover is worth considering. We broke down in the Southern most part of the Peloponnese with a broken clutch. They sorted it (via their agents) and had us back on the road in 3 days (tow to garage, hotel etc all included), very efficient.

Our renewal is due. We've been on the 3-year deal with Saga. When we took it out, it was quite competitive and we were planning on going to Morocco. (Covid put paid to those plans😣).
The Saga renewal quote is astronomical and I've had a much lower quote from Comfort.
Read through the Comfort T&Cs and they look fine.
The only problem is, we'd still like to go to Morocco. May just have to bit the bullet.🤔

We have been with Comfort for three years and found them good. Each year of the three the premium went down slightly which was refreshing.

However, today I received my renewal invitation and found that the Premium had increased by £130 over last year. On ringing to query the increase I was told that wife, who is a named driver, had achieved the age of 75 years and so the prize was a £130 increase in Premium.

I expressed horror and within a few minutes the increase was reduced by £100. I like Comfort and was pleased with today’s interaction and the remaining £30 increase, but why can’t companies give a realistic quote at first instance?

They are all as bad as each other for trying it on.
Fortunately for them not everyone disputes it like you did. Dick Turpin comes to mind.

I'm with 5 different insurance companys for different vehicles. Comfort by far are the easiest to deal with. They are very competitive. However, a insurance company is only good if it handles claims and breakdowns quickly and efficiently. Not put either to the test yet.

Comfort are only brokers for Aviva and it is them who you deal with if in an accident if they took your ncb of your car would you loose it on your car as if you buy another car it doesn’t get the first cars ncb
