I’m sure I saw they have cancelled the Munich Christmas market, they had even started putting all the stalls up and said it will cost about 3.5 million in lost revenue.

There seems to be a level of uncertainty. But there are other markets. That's the bonus of having a MH. You can change plans and travel to where there's the opportunity.

We equally enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

There is a stellplatze by the Rhine a 15 minute cycle or 45 minute walk along the bank to the Cathedral and the Markets. It is not in the Low emissions zone if coming from the ring roads.

Yes thats where we are €14 a night 35 minute walk to cathedral.

It was very busy for a Monday especially as it got dark but not s much as you were rammed in so plenty of space to social distance

Havnt read all this thread so it might have already been mentioned, but if going to markets, and using the tunnel don't miss gravelines market, don't think it might have started quite yet, but if it is on ,I promise you ,you won't be disappointed.

They were setting up on Saturday, it opens on 4th December

Well we hit Rothenburg and had a little snow but not a lot, the Alde is now behaving itself

So now we have just gone have our covid test for coming home at the official testing centre at Rothenburg, asked where to pay for the test and they said No Charge!! Result Now moved off the campsite in Detwang to the aire for an early start in the morning

My ukey friend has been booked on the Iona for a Christmas Markets Cruise. They’ve changed the itinerary after Hamburg was cancelled, but I think they are still doing the Bruges and Amsterdam ones. The alternative to Hamburg is a trip around Honfleur. To be honest the FB group she’s part of have organised so much to do on the boat, she won’t have time to get off! She’s packing Christmas jumpers, door decorations, I’m her ‘phone a friend’ for the quizzes - she’s stopped short of packing her uke!

Glad you are having a great time, be careful the test is allowed as NHS and free ones from other country equivalent are not allowed I believe?

The problem with the NHS ones is you do not get it certified by a Lab or receive the certificate of the results the tests are exactly the same from private providers. Denmark offers free tests for all and no problem using that for the pre-trave back to UK.

I’ve got a negative certificate, they said it’s what they’re issuing for travel to U.K.
We’ll see! It is from a private provider

Finally made it here to chaser chas’s second home! It’s ok here, xmas market on, all looks good, albeit with 40-50mph wind gusts

Wow mate, love it, spent many hours in that pmu but must say the market doesn't look as big as usual ,as the square is usually full of stalls.

The machine is very often out of order but we always try to pay but many don't bother.
Never heard of anyone being done for non payment.
