I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
My new MoHo (Hymer ML-I 580 - 2016 reg) has a Cobra alarm system fitted with the usual "odd shaped" Cobra remote fob - it has no model markings on it and I am having trouble with it - it sometimes (not always) seems to sound the alarm when doors are opened but doesn't always easily reset!!

Has anyone got a model No so that I can send off for a manual or can anyone help in any way please :)

Ps I have booked in at VanBitz in August to have Growler fitted but in the meantime I would like to get the cobra working properly:D2

Ive got no idea about alarms but can guess you are going to get asked to upload a picture of the remote at the very least

Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
In the past we had some silly intermittent issues with an alarm on a MH and it was down to a fuse in the holder that was a bit loose and kept giving 'false' messages to the system ... might be worth checking any fuses are therefore secure in their holders.

im a newbie
Hi, we have a 2008 Cipro 85 fitted wit a cobra globe 3800 system. Our model 3868 does not have fob, although it could have earlier.
I used a manual system as instructed by a alarm specialist. When using the central m/h locking system the indicator lights flash 3 times approximately 10 secs after locking, thus telling you the alarms are set.
When unlocking the m/h you have 5 secs to press the button near the steering column. After driving as you remove the ignition key hold your finger on the same button for 5secs to disarm the system. If you do not do this and are moving in the m/h the alarms go off. You can stop the alarm by pressing your m/h central locking fob.
After initial problems after getting the m/h, we have found the manual system works for us.
Hope this info is helpful, we do have an instruction booklet but understanding it??? The system is of Italian manufacture!

Your van should have come with a Cobra installation certificate with all the relevant details + user manual.

Suggest you contact Cobra UK with vehicle reg to check which system you have installed.

The user manual can be downloaded from Cobra (Italy) once you know the system reference. The download is in multiple languages.

We are no longer Newbie's.
The alarm sounder (probably in the engine compartment) should have a model number on it, all the wiring goes to that sounder.

Purchased mine last year with a cobra alarm used to squeak like a mouse not impressed. Did not work properly and did not have reset code and Camper UK could not locate it apparently prev owner never had it. So went to vanblitz and installed a growler and no starter. Never looked back

I passionately disliked the Cobra alarm which came with our Burstner Aviano, seemed to have a bloody mind of it own, so it also got the Vanbitz Growler treatment.

In case it's of any use, I *think* the model we had may have been consistent with/similar to this PDF manual I had squirrelled away prior to its demise...

Edit: I could well be talking nonsense (per usual), just found the following model reference in an email from myself to myself around the time we purchased the van - Cobra G198 +5462
