No, I don't want a code so, the 'Usual Suspects' can calm their beating hearts.

I've just got off the phone to BF.

It would appear that they still haven't decided whether or not the
extend the membership of Club Voyage members and, as a result
they are not accepting payment for onward membership.

Thought I'd save someone a phone call.

Thanks for info, I’d asked Daughter to ring and renew mine, as we are away, wondered why she hadn’t done it.

Yes I also spoke with them today as finally gave up on France this year.

I was informed they will not be giving any extra time to club voyage members. I requested that they at least cover the rebooking I have made for next year as I have paid for 2 years membership now and unable to make any crossings. Basically told no chance.

Next years crossing is £175 cheaper as we will be going off peak and can only have a voucher. once thats used I'll vote with my feet

I paid my renewal over the phone on the 12th July, it was due to expire in August, the membership is now shown as expiring 22nd August 2022. It was £125.

I am on a ferry on the 22nd, use of the ticket at that price is conditional of my Spanish membership being current, I did not fancy arguing the toss checking in! Either way I telephoned to renew and they just processed it.

Can you use a club voyage code from Portsmouth to France? How much discount would I get with someone’s number? Thx

Can you use a club voyage code from Portsmouth to France? How much discount would I get with someone’s number? Thx
Hi all. I am wondering the same.

I am planning a trip to France next week and another in the spring.

If I make two to three trips on this route per year is membership actually worth it? As far as I can see on the BF website there is no way to tell what discount one would get if one actually had the membership. Some websites allow you to click the 'member' box and then indicate the saving you would get if you were indeed a member, entry of a valid membership number pending. Not so with BF, just a remark of 'up to 30% discount', so may it potentially be zero? That certainly would be a waste of my fee!

Also, I couldn't find any information online regarding the actual cost of membership for trips to France. Applications for new members are by phone only at the moment.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

France membership us 30% off the crossing to France and 10% off Spain.
Spainmembers get 30% and 15% France
Cabins not included.i

With the Spanish membership we reckon we made a small profit the first year on a single crossing to Spain because you pay your joining fee plus your annual membership but after that the savings are much bigger especially as most years we do a Spanish trip plus a French one.

We tend to have fancy cabins as well!

Perfect. Thanks matamoros!

Is it always 30% off, even last-minute? I'm about to book for next week so is the 30% only if you book well in advance with demolishing discount the closer to the sailing?

I'm only likely to do two or three £200 sailings (I go one way only, I return via Eurotunnel) so the savings would be in the £120-180 range. Will membership pay for itself? I'm not sure how much it is.

You don't say where you are (starting from) but if you use the DFDS crossing Newhaven - Dieppe and the lead person (i.e. the person named on the booking) is over 60 there's a 20% discount but you have to book by phone.

Sorry Spriddler, good point. Interesting that age is a factor too.

I would generally sail from Portsmouth to Le Havre or Caen (Le Havre closed atm!) one way only. I'm in my 40's so maybe a different benefit.

I extended my BF membership a couple of weeks ago with no issues, they just said that if they extend it mine will still get extended so just paid there and then.

As far as I know, and I have been a member for a long time it applies to all crossings.
There is an initial joining fee plus membership, details on BF website.

Can anyone explain what benefits are with "Club Voyage Membership" please.

As struggling to see what they are on the BF website.

Thanks

Two types of membership, Spain or France.
Both give 30% off crossings, not cabins,to the member country, Spain membership gives 15% off France crossings.
France membership gives 20% off Spain crossings.
£8 and a bit breakfast allowance on overnight crossings, 10% off meals over £15.
Free or much reduced cabins on French daytime crossings

Is that a new thing about French membership giving 20% off Spanish crossings as it only used to be 10%? If it has changed then we may well change our membership.

I’ve checked and I’m afraid its still only 10% , thought that was too good to be true!

Thanks - so if the net cost of the "ferry only" cost is £1000, £300 discount ?

Sorry you are correct, fat fingers on phone and never checked before posting.

Sorry for misinformation in my original answer, it is only 10% off Spanish crossings with France membership, all other info is correct.......I hope

I have just taken out a club voyage Spain membership, so they are allowing new members.

How much is the membership?

I paid my renewal over the phone on the 12th July, it was due to expire in August, the membership is now shown as expiring 22nd August 2022. It was £125.

Is that (£125) the price of membership? A single fare to Spain would recoup that?

You and me both. 🤷‍♂️

Yes.
I rang them this morning as I was sceptical of the " Up to 30% discount" but was assured it is 30% ( ferry only not cabin)
