Pretty crap week at work so last night we decided to go away today for 3 nights down to Torbay. Yes there is rain today etc but who cares...

So the Beauty Terrorist asked me to put her clothes into the Moho whilst she sorted food etc...

So we are going for 3 nights... clothes list (excluding what she will be wearing as we travel)

- 4 pairs of trousers
- 3 pairs of shorts
- 1 dress
- 4 T shirts
- 4 shirts
- 2 cardigans
- 2 fleeces (already 2 in the van..)
- 7 pairs of knickers
- 3 bra’s
- 1 pair of PJ’s (already pair and a baby doll ;) already in the van)
- 1pair of trainers
- 1 pair of deck shoes ( already pair in the van)
- flip flops (already pair in the van..)

I jokingly asked why she wasn’t taking her new Wimbledon T Shirt...bugger me that went in as well.

Any other male funsters as confused as I am?

We went away in our little van and have an overhead locker each for all our cloths and toiletries. Had 10 pairs of pants and socks each, but apart from that we probably packed a similar amount to Ms jdk62.... except we were going for 6 months.

I think that is a very Conservative amount, the time I got told I had taken to much and I had to agree when Eddie counted out 22 pairs of shoes sandals boots flip flops.
Since then cut back to half that.

My better half doesn't own more than 6 pairs of shoes,,BUSBY,,,:LOL:

You should try motorcycle touring with Sally!!!!! She gets one pannier which I have to get Pickfords to put on the bike:rolleyes:

Plenty of room for two weeks in Europe.

With regard to the light packing, your point is ?:D2:giggle:

I do it the other way round, I took just 3 tops 2 shorts and 3 prs pants and we went away for 6 weeks. Managed with the clothes but I had to buy new pants and boy is everything expensive in France! We had just come back from a 3 week holiday in sunny Spain and thought i could get away with wearing hardly anything like i did in Spain ,.... Wrong!

She forgot socks.

That’s pretty similar to what I’ve pack whenever we go away. If we’re going in Britain, I’m likely to get soaked at least twice and get something unspeakable on me once. If we’re going abroad we’re going for longer, but laundry will be easier. I bought another pair of shorts this year, because I only have two and they seemed a bit light given I expect Italy to be hot. I did also pack a ball gown and make up, for the first time ever. But we are going to the opera.

I do think men fail to understand how heavily women are judged on their dress, and how a ‘shirt and trousers’ (which will go nearly anywhere for a man) actually has quite a range of female equivalents which aren’t interchangeable. I mainly don’t bother, but then I don’t much care what people think.

I prefer not to post anything critical on my wife’s choice of apparel for fear she may read these posts.

I learned to pack light when all I had was a pannier, the smaller one as I am smaller, now, I do pack too much, and bring back unworn stuff, but there is always something I wish I had taken. Not taking a ball gown, but we are going to a wedding on our return from Spain so will be carrying my clothes for that.

Whenever my (much) better half and I get a (rare) chance to hit the road together, she takes her van and I take mine.

Therefore...

I have no idea what clothes she takes with her... but I strongly suspect she takes quite some time choosing.

Every time we go out of an evening to a restaurant or the like, she always looks a million euros. :whistle2:

(I look like the old, trusty gardener who has been with her family for decades.)

JJ
