Clonky fridge

We have a 21 year old 3 way fridge freezer. Works perfectly on hook up and while driving. When it switches to gas it clonks? Best description I can give. It clonks then ignites. Sometimes it does not clonk and won't ignite and needs switching on and off quite a few times to make it work. Any one have any ideas. Many thanks

You perhaps need to be there when igniting the gas. Remove the lower vent and get someone to switch fridge over to gas. Then look & listen for the 'clonk'
You may need to do it a few times to determine what is causing the 'clonk'

Probably the gas solenoid valve on its way out.

i would say gas valve as well to get a clonk it has to be mechanical
