Having just read a post about a "good polish".......I was washing the top of the MH yesterday and wondered how Funsters got to that bit above the cab (I have an Autocruise Starfire). It's just out of reach but gettable with a soft broom. How on earth does anyone get any polish on that bit without abseiling down the windscreen!

It also struck me about who's bright idea was it that all MHs should be white, the worst colour to keep clean!

You can wrap a duster around a brush head or mop. Difficult to put any pressure on but it works after a fashion.

A guy joined Fun recently who valets motor homes, but Home Counties only I think. He either has very long arms for reaching the hard to get at bits or more likely various ladders and platforms.

Hi Steve, I bought a collapsable ladder from Maplins (other stores available) which I found is very good for cleaning the van. I totally agree it would be nice to have different colours for motorhomes but I suppose it would increase the price from suppliers of the GRP panels.

No advertising here but I have an Auto-sleeper which from time to time requires a proper clean. The thought of D-I-Y is not a good one.
Professional cleaners are brilliant when they get it right.
If anyone needs a good man East Midlands (Ish) I will
be happy to pass on his details

I believe the white is favoured to reflect the sun so aiding keeping the van cool.
That said - other solid colours do look good - but cost more!

I have had some success using one of these with a cloth liberally doused with Autoglym polish.
To get at the front I use stepladders in various positions, and, to get at the back bit I open the Heiki vent and reach around with the Swiffer .
It's all a hassle, but it does the job.

Better get someone else to do it then......... Dawn is light enough to go on the roof and she isn't scared of heights either. Had plenty of practice at cleaning and polishing over the years as well so looks ideal. Now where is that ladder (says the dead duck waddling..........)
