Set to this morning to clean the roof and then the rest, finding it very difficult to remove fly-ash from my neighbours log burners from the surface. Best thing so far is my thumbnail! Any ideas? It's becoming a real pain.

I would be interested to find out what removes that. I get the fall out from log burner where i park in storage . Im going to try show and shine polish.

I clean the roof with my Karcher patio circular brush, but I guess you need to soak it first then it will come off. Scraping dry may damage your paintwork, get it soft

Problem is if you use anything even mildy abrasive, it just makes the next lot of deposits stick even harder.

that is why it needs to be soaked until soft then a cloth will remove it, might like to try a little washing up liquid and lukewarm water. just do a small area at a time, think about a cover for your MoHo to prevent it in future. Even a tarpaulin held down by weights would do

I use This spray on and leave for a few minutes then wipe off.
I then wax the roof and this alleviates the problem for a few months. Our van is parked nect to the wood burner chimney.

I use Muc Off on my bikes, not sure of it's safe for vans though. Wet first, spray on and leave for a few minutes then wash off - works a treat.

I use Auto Glyms Polar Soak.
