The Clarion stereo only works when the ignition is on unlike our previous van. Unless we fit another system is there any way of altering this to use it without turning the ignition on? Fitted in an Autoroller 707, Fiat base.

The Clarion stereo only works when the ignition is on unlike our previous van. Unless we fit another system is there any way of altering this to use it without turning the ignition on? Fitted in an Autoroller 707, Fiat base.

It is done to protect the engine battery, usually lasting 15 mins or so. You can rewire to your leisure battery to give you extra radio time if you wish, which would not interfere with the engine battery. It would give you the best of both worlds really.
