Warning. Very heavy immigrant presence around Auchan and the aire at City Europe. Brit Van's being watched. Two sat on raised area by main City doors, others wandering around on mobile phones.
We usually stay here, but this is the first time we have felt unsafe.
Also there are a number of UK registered travellers in the corner of the aire who have appeared to have formed a circle and have a generator.
Decided to move on.

That's unusual last time we were there an immigrant appeared, and was pounced upon by the Gendarmes within seconds

I was there last saturday night, about 30 Van's, 2 black guys walking around periodically but that's it , never saw a police car once but never saw any trouble either quiet night overall

Just seen the black kids wandering up the carpark. What you worried about? They are causing no bother.
The caravans in the corner are group of Irish people on their way home from a holiday in Italy. They haven't formed a circle.
Some people get frightened of their own shadow.

There was a police van circulating earlier.
As stated , the gypsies are in the corner but most certainly not in a circle.
The only thing different to normal is the carpark lights are not lit.
No worries.

We survived the night without incident. The heavy immegrent presence must have gone down the disco. If the travellers did switch on the generator we never heard it, although they were consideret enough to park in the corner out the way.

Maybe they watch the Channel 4 program the other day and saw how easy it was to smuggle someone across in a motorhome.

Sometimes you have to wonder what people see that others don't, maybe we have just been lucky or maybe our van makes them think we aren't worth bothering with, but we have stayed on motorway Aires, Aires with circus people, and all sorts of places where folks have said they are not safe, and we have never had a scrap of bother.

At the end of the day its down to the individual to make a personal choice about whether they feel safe and secure, re staying on an aire etc, given what they interpret on arrival.
Regardless of whether that interpretation is correct or not I'd rather the OP gave us a heads up on this forum, so we are aware and can make our own decision.
