I've eeked out a few groats and threepenny bits from my armour plated Safe and Paid for 5Yrs.

Yes whatever you have remaining now will be added, so if you still have 6 months left of your subs and bought the 5 year option, then your subs would be good for 5½ years

Exactly the same as passports........not sure what its worth after 29th March

As Jim says, "Yes whatever you have remaining now will be added, so if you still have 6 months left of your subs and bought the 5 year option, then your subs would be good for 5½ years " however an even better deal is if you've six months to run and you buy a life membership you get a six month extension on life! Even your bestest doctor ain't gonna guarantee that!

Regarding life membership, after thirty or forty years you may wish to leave. You have to invoke article 50,. This will start a long and protracted discussion regarding leaving. Other members will tell you can't cherry pick the points you still wish to access and will make an example of you so that others won't choose to do the same. I'm sure I've heard something of a similar vein recently.
