If you are staying for over two weeks at the one place
How big are your gas tanks?

We use 13 kg of gas about every 5 days
Remember the gas has to be Propane
Butane will not run when its cold

Take a sledges for the kids
and some toys
Swimming trunks etc

Hi All,

Has anyone ever stopped at camping Montchavin in La Plagne? We are currently preparing for our New Years trip out to the alpes and for a van without facilities it looks like the perfect site.

We were planning on travelling back to Alpe D’Huez (where we used to live) but the site has very limited facilities.

It would be interesting to know if anyone can recommend sites near the lifts and with toilets/drying room etc..

Our friends stayed there last February and really rated it so looking to go at Christmas however the site is currently closed and not responding to booking requests until the next week or so.

We may pop down over Christmas as the children are enjoying the white stuff more and more these days. Will check out the locations mentioned in this thread as they sound very interesting. Time to dust off my cross country skis !
