I thought the kids could buy us an atlas and perhaps camp site guides. We'll be driving back from Bilbao to Calais over several weeks. Our first trip abroad in the MoHo.I know there are apps etc but a physical book or two would make a good gift.Any recommendations?

We just bought the laminated spiral edition of the Michelin France atlas - just under £16 from Amazon, but it doesn’t do that annoying thing where the pages you use most tear out from the binding.

Ring binder map books from Amazon is what we tend to use, cant rely on sat nags, so we tend to plan out routes and head from town to town. Lesson learned, now look at road signs and ignore the bloody sat nags until you are getting close into your target address.
Michelin route maps are good also, but on line not books, good for planning distance. time, and fuel consumption, Take later with a pinch of salt:D2
Congrats on your first France trip, hope you got the bug and will do many more.

The Philips big atlases are good for detail but, being big, you'll need to have somewhere to store it.
