We're planning on a trip visiting the Christmas markets including Prague, Colmar and somewhere in Germany. Charlie the 34 kilo Labradoodle doesn't do on his own, so we'll have him everywhere we go. Asking those who have done this sort of thing. Can we get around these busy places with Charlie in tow?

Best wishes to Charlie, but you should be heavily fined for mentioning the Xmas word so early in the year.:giggle:

The only time I went to the Christmas markets in Cologne, it was mobbed... so I'd suggest, no, not suitable for taking a dog.

My Labradoodle Stanley was 35kgs and we took him everywhere mainly because I couldn't bear to be without him for a second!! it depends on his personality, my boy just loved being with me so would go anywhere and crowds never bothered him one bit. If it gets a bit much for him, you can just wander off somewhere quiet for a few minutes. Charlie is gorgeous by the way:h:

I would think you’d struggle with a dog.
They do tend to get quite busy.

Even if he's good with lots of people and stimulating noises/smells, I would think he's very likely to be trodden on and walked into, sadly. People are looking at the stalls, not at dog level activity. It's hard enough to get about packed events when you're at eye level with people. I don't think I'd risk taking Mum's dogs along.

You will be able to go, but they are mobbed with people who have Xmas panic about them. They just tread on your dog, fall over them, suddenly discover it, and panic as they are scared of dogs. There is also Xmas trees all over the place (not ideal dog pee places) and food all over the floor.

As said you are able to go. Me and my dog won’t bother again.
