we are having a little tour of Alsace for Christmas first stop Eguisheim which was lovely and stopped at a wine producer for free (well bought a few bottles at a tasting of course) just a skip and a hop from the beautiful old town. Fab welcome.

Yesterday came to Turckheim just a few km away. Absolutely beautiful village and a wonderful little ceremony every evening st 5 pm when they have a little parade round the tree and open a window on the huge illuminated advent calendar. Then into a beautiful hall for mulled wine. A real must-do if ever you get the chance.

Weather is freezing of course... But it's worth it. Highly recommend

Can't go wrong round there, Riquewihr, Selestat, Colmar where the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty came from, Breisach on the Rhine, and of course Freiburg, Germany's Oxford, for mulled wine in the Christmas Market.

Thanks, we saw Riquewihr as well, already been to Colmar, but the other places we didn't get to. Thought Kayserberg was lovely, Strasbourg as well, will definitely go back in warmer times to see the other places you've mentioned. We were stunned by the beauty of it all, but getting a bit old to do it again when it's so cold, even though we were toasty in the MH.
