Just settled back at home after a fab weekend with Funster's at the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway rally in Kent.

It was organised by B-Well and was his first crack at being a rally marshall. Not that you'd have known it, the rally went off faultlessly!

Thanks to overtures made to the railway manager, B-Well secured places for 15 'vans in the car park immediately adjacent to Romney Station. Water and Loos were made available out of hours too.

Makes a change for us Southerners to get together for such a meet, so it went down a treat.

For those unfamiliar, this miniature railway (you don't sit on it) was opened in 1927 and runs for over 13 miles through Kent countryside and old seaside towns. Apart from the tourists, it even takes forms part of local kid's school journeys! There's something evocative about the smell of coke (in the old sense of the word :D) and steam trains.

Apart from the rides, it was great to meet other Funster's and to have a natter in the sunshine. Needless to say, Sunday kicked off with bacon rolls!

Thanks all and in particular to B-Well and others who made the weekend. Smuts on the wife's white jeans will wash off - memories however won't fade!

Regards all
James & Sue
