Is it manual or Agilis box? We had the 166bhp 3 litre remapped by Quantum and very happy with the results, will have the new 210bhp one done when it has a few more miles on it.

I had a tuning box on a Freelander. I chose it because it was easily taken off when I sold the car.

I guess having one fitted would invalidate any warranty.

Neither it has the zf 8 speed box which I think is excellent but the engine at 205hp is nothing to get excited about I have to drop a couple of gears if I see an incline on the horizon I like to run at about 2300 to 2500 rpm with a gvw at 6300kg although I can gross at 7500kg my last Mh I chipped with a race chip box which increased my mileage to 22mpg which I thought was pretty good for 6300kg gvw I tried a Quantum map but It made know difference In fact Portugal and back I was 1mpg down.

There was a Funster on here who had his Merc remapped and it played havoc with his auto box cost him thousands, the company said it had no effect on the auto box in the end he replaced the ecu and relevant ignition switch ( not a simple job Ona Merc) and that cured the problem instantly.

Sorry of course I should have read 2019 doh ;) ours is 2020 so basically the same, we have a friend who has had the Quantum map on his MORELO and says it has transformed the vehicle, I think with ours at about 7000kg 8th gear in the ZF is too high for anything other than flat so there is a fair bit of gear changing which thankfully the box does very well.

I'm a newbie
I had one in a 3.5t pickup towing a 3.5t trailer , 7t all up

Can't say it ever felt underpowered , it'd pull 7t over the pennines at 60mph easily enough.

I bought a tuning box for a 2007 E280 but haven't got round to fitting it yet but that's only a few thousand quid if it goes pop

Given the possible £££ cost of blowing an expensive van up I'd get it tuned by a specialist rather than a box that tricks the sensors because that's all they do
