Hi, has anybody managed to update their cheapo chinese sat nav, the ones from navibuzz etc.
mine is a 5" truck one, naviextra web site does'nt recognise it.
freemapsupdate .com needs a password.
i have used it for France this summer and it worked ok, probably better than the tom tom.
But it keeps coming up with maps out of date, so i thought i would try and update it.
which is supposed to be free....?

Hi Lou,

I have a unit from navibuzz, not used it much, but well pleased with it so far,

Not had occasion to update yet, but if you need a password, the one they supplied me with is . . . .12890780,

Hope it works ok for you, let us know,

Best of luck,

cheers Ken, that password worked, i managed to download some zip files, just need to find out how to put them on to the sat nav,

Don't know whether the files are updates or not,,, i suspect they are the same files/maps which the satnav came with.
i am waiting for a reply from navbuzz / pnavi as when i bought it they said free lifetime updates, but on the naviextras website it states you can purchase updates?

thanks for your help:thumb:
