Hello,
Given the changing nature of the Covid pandemic, and the post Brexit scenarios that impact on the motorhome community we need advice please about planning a trip to Europe in May. We are thinking of taking a ferry to northern Spain, heading south inland for a while and then returning along the Spanish coast towards the Bay of Roses. Then into France if the weather holds, and perhaps heading into Germany before coming back via Belgium.

Can anyone please point us to a definitive checklist of what we need to think about before we go? What documents will we need as part of our planning, bar the obvious ones?

Many thanks.

Unfortunately, there will be no definitive list that is available now that will be correct at the time you go (bar the obvious ones of driving licence etc)

In all likelihood, travel from Spain to France then Germany Belgium (all schengen) is probably going to be as per normal, the issues re covid will be much more likely UK to Spain and France/Belgium to UK and they wont be known until a very short time beforehand.

Keep an eye out for changes, sign up for updates on email from gov site, read current threads on here (usually good up to date info)

One of the things you may want to consider is getting some free LFTs in order that you may want to test yourself before you actually have to test yourself (on a paid for one) upon return. Personal view is they wont be required in May for the double/triple jabbed. Others will have differing opinions which are just as valid

There's the 90 day rule to consider and also that from 1st February Spain will only admit travellers with vaccination certificates that show theyā€™ve been fully vaccinated against the virus within the previous 270 days.
