Hi , It occurred to me as a new Fiat M/Home owner to check dealer locations ,in my area , my findings may help other owners, the nearest dealer was in Colchester or so I thought the location address is on the Fiat website in fact is the main Fiat dealership location , but the same companies Motorhome workshop is actually in a place called Weeley 11 miles from Colchester , if you have what you think needs immediate attention 11 miles in the wrong direction may be critical.

The second point I found out was although certain Dealers are again on the Fiat website and in the dealer handbooks some dealers cannot handle certain size Motorhomes for example mine is 7.4 metres long and a dealer in Norfolk cannot accommodate the length on their lift.
Not telling anybody how to suck eggs, but, may be helpful info and may save time and fuel to ring dealers first.
    Tony A.

Desira garage in Diss could not accommodate our M/Home.
Simpsons of Great Yarmouth can , never used them though, but look like big workshop.
The Weeley garage is towards Clacton , never been there but supposed to be Fiat Motorhome knowledgeable

Having purchased at least 15- 20 vehicles off Desira over the years I was disappointed that my motorhome at 8.5 m was deemed to big for their ramps , what is even more annoying is that my motorhome is literally 100 metres from the garage☹️ But was advised to go to Guest trucks in Thetford who are now a Fiat proffesional workshop and able to do my warranty work .

Frankly we wouldn't ever touch Desira again with a barge pole. They caused many more problems than they solved and we ended up taking the last moho to Salmon's at Weeley who are, in our experience, very friendly and good at what they do. They were also cheaper than Desira. They have just had the new moho in with the llack of power issue. It was there a good while as they had to wait for the spares for the recall, but put the moho inside every night after I told them we still had water on board and frost was forecast. They also kept us in the picture with what was going on.
It's a doddle to get to. Down the A12 towards Colchester, turn towards Clacton on the A130 and follow that to roundabout with services (Mc Donalds), turn towards Weeley and its about half a mile on the right. Probably easier to get to than the one in Colchester.

In the past (a decade ago) we also used Simpsons who were equally as good.

Iv got one 1½ mile away and I would NOT trust then with a spanner, took the last van there a big mistake.
For the recall will be taking the van to a dealer 30 miles away.

I used the Inverness Fiat dealer and pleasantly surprised, they were efficient and were under their guesstimate for price.
But still 25 miles away from me.

We take ours to Les Bateman Motors in Southend and have done for the last few years. Very happy with them. The Fiat specialist in Weeley probably about same distance from us as Southend but we didnt want to pay their prices on a van over 6yrs old

We used our local Fiat dealer until I discovered they took it to the local non franchised van servicing centre. Their ramps couldn't handle the weight or height, which surprised us as they also sell large vans.
When we were in Normandy earlier this year and had a problem we went to the Fiat car dealer in Avranch, they had huge ramps in their workshop.
We now use North East Truck and Van, a commercial Fiat Professional/Iveco outfit a little further away. Very happy with their service so far.

My camper app only lists two workshops in Manchester, Hyde and Oldham but the one I use is the Scania franchise in Trafford Park. Very helpful, professional and keep you informed of what is going on. Can’t fault them. Will carry out Fiat warranty work. Mike

Our nearest FIAT dealership is 38 miles away.

We had the "dim dash lights" last year and rang them about it.

"Bring it in Sir and we will have a look so we can order parts.

"it's a well known fault you shouldn't need to see it first"

"No, you will have to bring it in".

A 70+ mile round trip for 15 seconds inspection.

When the part arrived, (why don't they keep them in stock?) i asked if it could be done while I wait and was told "yes, no problem."

When I arrived for the appointment reception had not told the workshops it needed to be done while I waited and they wouldn't do it. So wasted trip.

Finally, three weeks later it was done while I waited.

Almost 200 miles toing and froing later it was done. And they call the service "FIAT Professional".(n)

Any Fiat workshop would probably be able to look at something that does not require it to go on ramps as we have had D Salmon in Colchester replace our radio but for MOT, service etc. then we have to go to Weeley which is easier to get to in a way as its out of town with less traffic etc.

Same for us excaravantugger.Went to the Oldham dealership to register with Fiat Assist and they tried to charge me £25.00 for the privilege so Fiat Assist directed me to Trafford Park and they were very helpful.

Still to have first service though so glad to know they do a good job.

Ipswich Truck Services Garage building is a great design !!! as I designed it in 1982 , cost £150,000, when I was a Fleet Engineer for a Brewery, the Brewery were trying to get a new wage agreement with the Union and we were spending money like water to show that we were not making much profit in fact we made a paper profit of £18000, that year and the following year £5,000,000 and they say as Senior Management "trust us" ( I was not that Senior I hasten to add)I wouldn't.
Needless to say we got an excellent deal with the Union.
"Just a piece of useless info for you all" Please no comments .
